Sandra B. from Regensburg asks
“In a document about workspace planning, I came across the word ‘cellular office’ but don’t know what it means. Can you help me?”
Answer
A cellular office is a traditional office with walls, a window and a door, which is designed for one workplace.
It is the opposite of an open plan office which is a large room shared by many people.
The term is used mainly by archi- tects and planners or by sociologists describing working conditions.
In normal conversation you would say “I have my own office”.
